Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor stands accused of committing assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
