Netflix Casts Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is geared up to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has just been cast.
Netflix announced Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bentham. This character has the ability to transform into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their main hand. Escola, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a rendition of that role reinterpreted as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and anime.
The new cast member will work alongside a number of new cast members set to bring Baroque Works to reality, including chief Mr. 0, brought to life by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.
Though the role is a key figure of Baroque Works, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. With season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could suggest further changes to the narrative framework.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the character. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
Netflix's live-action One Piece show is due to premiere for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
