That Grisly Cartoon Movie Conclusion That Haunts Viewers
Among every mature cartoon movies I have personally viewed, nothing has remained with me as much as the terror-laced ending of a graphically gory and highly provocative 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.
In 2015’s, the Spanish filmmaker created a grim, somber and often savage universe that included some tiny , desolate glimmers of hope.
While The Unicorn Wars feels like it stemmed from a desire to push the medium even more, the director clarified that it was rather a try to convey a widespread, multicultural theme concerning “the common origin of all wars.”
That idea is communicated through a band of colorful pastel bears , obviously based on a popular line of cuddly characters.
Growing up in a community centered on aggression as well as the war machine, many of these creatures are obsessed with slaughtering the mythical beasts, thanks to a holy book which states them they were once kings of the forest, before the horned beings forced them out.

“Initially, it feels like a humorous movie,” the director said. “However it becomes a more serious and sorrowful film. And ultimately, it transforms into a horror film.”
The Unicorn Wars begins resembling one of the more whimsical movies from a renowned animator, that discover a wicked pleasure in letting animated figures curse, engage in violence, or have intimate relations.
Afterward it turns into closer to a more grim movie by that same artist, including ever more explicit brutality and a noticeable connection to genuine suffering of war.
In the finale, it becomes an outright extreme drama massacre.
