The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Chose the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Song

This latest animated series, the newest animated series from the beloved role-playing group, revealed an exciting introductory sequence. It features our favorite group of outcasts, outcasts, and rogues fighting hard and taking names, while also hinting at several heart-wrenching backstories for key figures such as Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, Fjord.

All in all, the intro looks amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that something was lost in the music selection.

The intro uses "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional song created by artist the talented musician. It's a track from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release released by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful sentimental option, and I believe that devotees of the second campaign will love its presence.

But for me, The series' intro fails to capture the hype and energy that was part of the second campaign's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by singer-songwriter the artist, was an instant classic in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it improved further when cast member the performer added lyrics to the melody for the animated Campaign 2 opening in 2018.

Including singing from Ashley Johnson, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the song was memorable and fun. Back then, I hadn't even watched the follow-up series at that point, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my device. It's a song that excites you before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun.

The show's intro with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the same chords for me. It's an impressive composition, but from what I know of this party, I can't help but feel that its tone is a little off.

Of course, the creators has already said that the series will have some changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening appears as among these.

This animated adventure will be released on Prime Video from November 19. If you can't wait until then, or wish to prepare to get to know the personas of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the actual play are available on the audio platform and the video site.
