Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of mass production for an innovative locally engineered interceptor drone to reinforce its aerial protection systems. Three initial manufacturers have started production, with 11 more getting ready to set up production lines, Ukrainian military officials announced this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs utilize a domestically developed system known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Iranian-made drones. The system underwent testing in combat and demonstrated effective “at night, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” officials stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors each day.

Recent Assault on the Capital Described as Calculated

The Ukrainian president characterized Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “intentional, premeditated and brutal” following six individuals lost their lives and dozens wounded in a series of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv. Air raid sirens sounded in the capital shortly after midnight on Friday, with enemy UAVs soon heard overhead and heavy machine-gun fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

The president stated the nation was hit by 430 drones and multiple missiles. Those killed were at home in an apartment building on the capital's left bank when it was hit. Dozens of additional structures sustained damage, among them the Azerbaijani embassy.

International Protest After Embassy Damage

The Azerbaijani government said it issued a formal objection to the Russian ambassador this past Friday following the embassy damage. The blast from a Russian Iskander missile destroyed part of the compound's boundary wall and resulted in significant destruction to the diplomatic compound, officials from Baku reported. Moscow's military were firing hundreds of glide bombs per day, with last month’s average daily usage standing at about 170, according to defence ministry data.

Ukrainian Strikes Focus on Russian Oil Facilities

Moscow's Black Sea port of the port city temporarily suspended oil exports this past Friday – equivalent to 2% of worldwide oil production – after a strike by Ukrainian forces. Military commanders in Kyiv said its forces had launched domestically produced missiles and deployed various types of attack UAVs in the assault against Novorossiysk “within the framework of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the invading force.”

Ukraine separately struck a processing plant in Russia’s Saratov region and a fuel storage facility in the adjacent Engels region overnight.

Global Restrictions Affect Moscow's Energy Company

The number two energy company Lukoil announced this past Friday it has been in talks with interested parties concerning its international holdings following last month’s sanctions from Western nations and the collapse of a deal with the Gunvor trading house. “Final arrangements will be announced once the final agreements have been reached and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained,” the company commented.

Ukrainian President Schedules Diplomatic Trip to Spanish Capital

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital, the Spanish capital, on Tuesday to confer with lawmakers a day after his visit to Paris, the chamber of deputies announced. The Ukrainian president would meet deputies from all houses of parliament throughout his stay, the Spanish statement said.
